Wedding & Tiered Cakes

When you think of tiered cakes, you think of weddings.  Here are some tiered cakes (some of them were for birthdays, but could easily be a wedding cake) that most would call traditional.  But keep looking and you just might be amazed by the road some of my brides chose toward the look of their wedding cake. 

 

 MY FIRST WEDDING CAKE!!!!!!

  


"CAROLYN"

 

This was my grandmother's 90th birthday cake. 

It was 2 different flavors...strawberry and french vanilla. 

 

The top layer was a special flavor for the birthday girl ....Strawberry Rum!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 "SUSAN"

 

This cake was made with our butter cake recipe.  It's not quite as dense as pound cake, but not as light as a white cake. 

 

 

 

 

"DORIS"

 

This cake was made for our mother's (Antonio's mom) retirement and birthday party.  We were in The South, so obviously the cake was RED VELVET

and strawberry rum.  The middle layer was chocolate chip.  The cakes were finished off with fun designs, hydrangeas and lavender.  

 


 

 

 

 

 "FLORIDA" 

 

This was a beach themed reception.  The cake was surrounded by "sand" made from vanilla wafers and cornmeal. The bride chose blue to represent water and pure white.  The cake was like the elegant "sand castle".

 

 

"ANGELA"

 

 Three tiers of lemon bliss...yellow cake soaked with a lemon syrup and filled with a lemon curd italian meringue buttercream, one tier of strawberry cake filled with alternating layers of vanilla and strawberry IMB.  All covered with our signature buttercream and accented with beautiful apple colored rosebuds around each tier.

 

 

 

 "CLASSIC ELEGANCE" 

 

Sometimes simple is enough.  This cake is decorated with c-scrolls and descending swiss dots on the sides.  Each top dot is accented with a silver dragee.  The top tier is completed with a crown border and burgandy roses at the top.  Each tier is wrapped with silver and black satin ribbon.  This cake can easily float over a fountain instead of flowers.  Just simple, classic, elegance.

 

 

 

"Sharon"

Our signature buttercream frosting adorns this lemony  delight.  White chocolate cake is the base for the 2 layers of lemon italian meringue buttercream and 1 layer of lemon curd fillings.  Bouquets of royal icing roses in shades of blue and white with buttercream leaves complete this spring beauty.

 

 


"Bethany"

This cake has it all...classic elegance, personal words of defining romance and tropical fun...for a design that expresses today's more carefree attitude.  The look may say fun, but with white chocolate cake filled with white chocolate and lemon and chocolate filled dark chocolate cake...the taste says sophisticated elegance.

 

"Ingrid"

This simple, yet beautiful design lends it's hand to the simple accents of real pixie roses.  The layers of carrot cake and red velvet cake are finished with the smooth look of cream cheese italian meringue buttercream accented with buttercream stems and rosebuds.

"TIFF"

 

This wedding cake has 4 different cake flavors...french vanilla, chocolate chip, rum and cinnamon swirl topped it off!!  Congratulations to the Cruz family!

 

 
 

 

 "HELEN"

Stairsteps tiers of Rum, Strawberry and French Vanilla cake  make an elegant presentation for this tiered birthday cake.  Fondant ribbon and bows complete the look.

 

 "KATINA"

 

When the Cochrane's planned for their wedding, they knew exactly what they wanted for a cake.  They chose the above design and 4 different flavors...red velvet, strawberry with rum filling, chocolate chip  with chocolate buttercream and a traditional vanilla white to top it off.  Congrats to the Cochrane's...hope that top layer makes it for your anniversary!!!!!

 

 

 

 "Winter Wonderland"

 

This cake was french vanilla with vanilla/almond filling and decorated in pure white buttercream.  Each silver dragee was hand placed...and every snowflake was hand made with royal icing.  Edible cake sparkles make the cake glisten just like the wintery outside.  Congratulations to the St. Louis' ....we pray all your dreams came true!!!!

 

 

 

 This cake was inspired by Le'Char...she loves butterflies and the colors pink and green.  This cake is the same colors that are in her room, minus the purple.  The base color is green and then pinstriped with pink, so as the cake turns, the color makes you wonder.  All of the butterflies are made of royal icing, so you can eat those too!!!  Like Char says, sometimes cakes just have to be fun. 

 

 

"Touch of Gold"

 

 "Shades of Blue"

 

Buttercream icing "waves" in gradual shades of blue fade from cobalt to ivory. Bride and groom penguins are housed in their wedding gazebo. White chocolate seashells complete the look.

 

 

"Mary"

 

Patterned after the bride's dress, this champagne cake was nothing ordinary. 

Our signature buttercream masks what's beneath...2 tiers of our signature Red velvet with cream cheese IMB and 1 tier of elegant French Vanilla cake filled with lemon.  Each tier and sheet cake were adorned with edible pearls and chocolate brown embroidery.  The tiers were finished off with champagne color dusted royal icing roses.
